Let’s get you signed in

A shared space to organize care, appointments and updates for Margaret and Harold. Each person uses their own account.

Your first visit

  1. Check your invitation. A family administrator must add your email address first. You do not need to create a ChatGPT account.
  2. Open the sign-in page. Enter that same email address and tap Email me a sign-in link. You can leave the password empty for this step.
  3. Open your email. Look for Good Family Care. Check Junk or Spam if needed. Open the newest email and tap its sign-in button, preferably on the same device. A link can be used once; request a new one if it has expired.
  4. Choose your own password. Use at least 12 characters. Save it in your device’s password manager when offered. Never share it with the care team.
  5. Finish your account setup. Read the short privacy statement, select its checkbox and tap Agree and open dashboard. If you are an administrator, you will also complete verification below.

Do I need verification codes?

Standard family accounts: no authenticator setup is required unless you have already enrolled one. Sign in with your email and password.

Owner and administrator accounts: a six-digit verification code is required as an extra safeguard. This is called multi-factor authentication (MFA). On a supported iPad or iPhone, Apple’s built-in Passwords app can create these codes. No additional app download is needed.

Administrator setup on an iPad or iPhone

  1. Sign in and tap Set up my authenticator on the verification screen.
  2. Tap Set up on this device using the key, then Copy private setup key.
  3. Keep the dashboard open in Safari. Open the built-in Passwords app and unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.
  4. Tap All and select your saved Good Family Care account. If it is missing, add a password entry for the dashboard’s website address using your approved email and the password you just chose.
  5. Tap Edit, then Set Up Code (sometimes called Set Up Verification Code). Choose the setup-key option, paste your private key and confirm Use Setup Key. Labels may vary by system version.
  6. Copy the six-digit verification code now shown in Passwords. Return to Safari, paste it into Six-digit verification code and tap Verify and enable authenticator.

These codes change regularly. If a code expires, copy the new one. Never paste the private setup key into a care note, email or message.

Using Android or another device

Use a trusted authenticator that supports time-based verification codes. If you already have one, you can keep using it. Add an account, scan the QR code from a different screen or enter the private setup key, then enter the six-digit code in Good Family Care. Android devices without a suitable built-in code generator may need an authenticator app. Ask your family administrator to walk through setup with you.

Signing in next time

  1. Open the dashboard and enter your email and password, or use your saved password.
  2. If asked for a code, tap the code suggested above the keyboard. Otherwise open Passwords → All → your Good Family Care account, copy its verification code and return to the dashboard.
  3. Tap Verify and continue. You do not need to repeat the original QR-code setup.
Something isn’t working?

No email? Check the spelling and Junk folder. Ask the administrator to confirm your approved email. If the page reports an email delivery error, the portal owner needs to check the email service.

Code rejected? Use the newest code for this account and turn on your device’s automatic date and time. A code from a different account will not work.

Lost access to codes? Contact the portal owner. Do not create another account. An email link or password reset does not remove administrator verification.

Need to pause? The × on an account setup window opens the sample dashboard, without completing setup or opening private care records.

While you still have access, administrators can add a verified backup authenticator in Account security. Use a personal device protected by a passcode and sign out on shared devices.
